Abstract

The early years (0-6) and especially the young child’s socio-emotional development lay the foundations for lifelong mental health and wellbeing. How do we get that message out? How do we support parents and professional caregivers in supporting and promoting the mental health of children age 0-6?

In the Centre for Early Intervention and Family Studies (CIF), we aim to promote early childhood (0-6 years), mental health, parental skills and qualifications of frontline staff. In my talk, I will present the history of CIF and introduce some of the central ongoing studies where we collaborate with municipalities and practitioners working with young children and their parents.
