University of Copenhagen BabyLab

The overall objective of UCPH Babylab  is within an overall developmental psychopathology frame to conduct basic and applied research within early childhood development at the highest international level.

We integrate theoretical and longitudinal empirical studies of early socioemotional and cognitive processes. We use a wide spectrum of theories and methods: experimental studies, observational studies, attachment theory, phenomenology and clinical developmental psychology. We focus on different aspects of the early development of the psyche aiming to contribute to the description, understanding and implementation of criteria for an optimal development of early childhood based on scientific facts.

Our vision is to contribute to a solid basis of scientific knowledge of the complex aspects of the early psyche and hereby reaching two targets: describing optimal conditions for growth and hereby specify a concrete strategy with measures and interventions for practioners and advice for parents - both in Denmark and internationally.
