Curiosity team at Roskilde Festival
Virtual Learning Lab’s team collected data from 307 participants during the warm-up days at Roskilde Festival 2025.

The study investigated the relationship between curiosity and climate-related outcomes, while also measuring support for sustainable festival initiatives, pro-environmental intentions, and attitudes toward the Danish seas.
At the festival, participants were asked about their support for three potential sustainability policies targeting the festival’s largest sources of CO2 emissions: stricter waste management, prioritizing sustainably traveling artists, and providing plant-based food options.
The results showed strong support for waste management policies and modest but positive support for the more challenging initiatives. Volunteers, in particular, expressed a higher willingness than visitors to adopt sustainable behaviors. These findings highlight that festival communities are ready to embrace meaningful sustainability changes, even when it requires some personal sacrifice.
