Beyond Face Value: The Phenomenology and Assessment of Developmental Prosopagnosia
Public defence of PhD thesis by Erling Nørkær.

Developmental prosopagnosia is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by an inability to recognize other people by their face. In this PhD project, I investigate developmental prosopagnosia through six theoretical and empirical articles. The project contributes to the understanding of developmental prosopagnosia in three key ways: by explicating the epistemological and methodological challenges of defining and classifying developmental prosopagnosia (Articles 1 & 2); by providing a descriptive phenomenological framework of the condition (Articles 3 & 4); and by improving the self-report tools available for its assessment (Articles 5 & 6).
