Body-mind-brain integration in health and illness
Symposium at the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters arranged by Gretty Mirdal, Frans Gregersen, Gitte Moos Knudsen, Simo Køppe, Olaf Paulson, Dan Zahavi and Tone Roald from the University of Copenhagen.
This symposium focuses on the topic of functional disorders and/or medically unexplained disorders because these diagnoses reflect the actual conception of the philosophical mind-body problem. Topics such as the agency of living organisms, of consciousness in human-made systems, or of the 4E-cognition model (embodied, embedded, enacted, extended) are all relevant for revisiting the body-mind-brain question.
The symposium is funded by the the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters, the Carlsberg Foundation, and the Department of Psychology at the University of Copenhagen.
