Seminar on Complexity Science and Mental Health
Join us for an afternoon of discussion on how complexity science is transforming our understanding of mental health and clinical care.
We have a diverse programme featuring four presentations on the newest research and perspectives on mental health and psychiatry:
- Co-occurrence of psychopathology from a network perspective (dr. Philippe Beauchamp-Kerr)
- Dynamics of mental health in young adults (Jette Echterhoff, MSc.)
- Multigenerational transmission of disadvantage: a family systems perspective (dr. Tjeerd Rudmer de Vries)
- TBA (dr. Helene Speyer)
These presentations will be followed by a keynote titled: “From species taxonomy to psychiatric nosology: mental disorders as homeostatic property clusters” delivered by dr. Eiko Fried, Professor of Mental Health and Data Science at the University of Leiden, Netherlands.
We welcome students, researchers, clinicians, and anyone interested in the future of mental health science to join the discussion and explore how complexity-informed approaches may shape the way we view, study, and treat psychiatric disorders.
The afternoon will conclude with a reception with light refreshments, providing an opportunity to continue the conversation in an informal setting.
