Abstract

The thesis aims to explore approaches for investigating and establishing construct validity for instruments designed for parents of infants, employing complementary methods from different test theories. Across four empirical studies, the construct validity of two measures is evaluated using statistical analyses from classical and modern test theory, along with a relatively new approach known as network psychometrics. The findings from these studies offer evidence supporting the construct validity as well as further our understanding of the importance of employing complementary statistical and theoretical approaches to comprehensively assess the construct measured by an instrument.
