Learning with Immersive Virtual Reality (VR): Why is it relevant and what do we know so far?

The Department of Psychology invites you to Professor Guido Makransky's inaugural lecture on 20th January, 2023, at 3 pm.

Title: 'Learning with Immersive Virtual Reality (VR): Why is it relevant and what do we know so far?'

In this inaugural lecture, Guido will describe the state of the art related to research in learning with immersive virtual reality (IVR). He will start by describing why this is a research field he finds relevant. He will continue to describe the main findings related to learning with IVR, and will highlight several empirically based theoretical frameworks that help understand the central affordances of IVR for learning. Guido will finish by describing a number of application areas where this knowledge can be used to increase the quality of education, training and decision making.
