Please pay attention: Explorations of attention and cognitive control in health and disease

On 1 July, 2022, Signe Vangkilde was appointed Professor at the Department of Psychology. The department now invites you to her inaugural lecture.

Title: 'Please pay attention: Explorations of attention and cognitive control in health and disease.'

Abstract: Human attention and cognitive control are processes which are essential to the way we perceive the world around us and interact with it and with other people. When working well, we pay little attention to these processes, however, challenges with attention and control are at the core of many mental disorders, and in a world of potential distractions, we are all challenged from time to time. This lecture will give examples of Signe Vangkilde's work spanning basic and applied research exploring both attention and cognitive control and the link between the two while also suggesting new interventions that can be employed to support and train attention and control.

Date: 13 October 2023 at 2 pm.

Venue: The Faculty Library, Auditorium 1, Gothersgade 140, 1353 Copenhagen K.

Reception

After the inaugural lecture, there will be a reception at the Department of Psychology, Øster Farimagsgade 2A, room 03.2.M202 (the canteen), from 3:30 - 6 pm. All are welcome.
