In Memoriam: Jia Li

With deep sorrow we share news of the recent death of our colleague, Jia Li.

Jia was an outstanding scholar and deeply valued member of our department.

Jia earned her PhD from Maastricht University, and before joining us in Copenhagen held academic positions in the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium. She remained closely connected to an international network of collaborators, many of whom she also considered friends.

Jia’s research engaged with the complexity of teamwork in modern organisations. Her work was notable for being theoretically strong, rigorous and deploying innovative methods to model the dynamic and unfolding processes through which teams develop, adapt, and change over time. Her research was published in top journals such as Academy of Management Annals, Journal of Management Studies, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology. Her contributions to the field were further recognised through international awards and competitive research grants.

As a teacher, Jia was also highly dedicated to providing an ambitious and positive learning environment for her students, always aiming to bridge theoretical knowledge to concrete organisational processes.

Jia will be remembered not only for her academic accomplishments but also as someone with a joyful personality who combined curiosity and enthusiasm with a strong sense of community and commitment to others.

Jia will be missed dearly.
