The color of nothingness
Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Book chapter › Research › peer-review
To most people, the understanding of the word “nothingness” relates to an existential theme or discourse. It is the thought of absolute nihilation, the time before life and the time after death. There are many issues with this interpretation because it connotes some very creative topics: religion, mystery, the supernatural, etc. It is not the topics in and of themselves but rather the many interpretations of them, the complex issues, etc. that are difficult to unravel as the criteria for argumentation and discussion are complex. Another angle on nothingness is a philosophical one, especially a metaphysical or an ontological one. Neither is of course problematic in and of themselves, but they have a very long and differentiated history.
